For those concerned about trace element build up using Oceans Blend 2 part the results are in. I have a customer that has been using Oceans Blend for about 12 years now. They had their main tank tested using an ICP test. The only element that came back out of wanted parameters was Potassium in a 450ppm range. This maybe due to the gallon of potassium they ordered and had been using. The good thing about this tank is it uses only natural seawater so there is zero influence by synthetic sea salt.
Great to know. Can they post more info about there setup and there maintenance habits. Sounds like they have a great routine. Good things for our hobby will come out of the new ICP testing that is now affordably available. ........Good goes in good comes out.

A 200 gallon MARS quarintine with UV system/ medication for new arrivals.
Still lots to learn about the hobby but I have amassed a great collection of real beauties. I have broken past the stage of keeping things alive and now there actually growing out. Which is a big hurdle for many beginners I must admit. Good information and advise is hard to get sometimes and the club has done wonders with respect to quality advise and help in the hobby.

I'll do my best. I do not know their exact methods, but most that I have discussed are general.
The system is around 3500 gallons. There are 2 turf scrubbers on the tank that are always running. The protein skimmer has not always been on there and is not always running due to dismantle and cleaning times. The holding tank for their water changes (once a month) is about 500 gallons. Besides feeding the fish they feed phyto plankton. That's about it other than being consistent with the schedule. This part I think is key to the success they have, so no pushing water changes off or less. Also with using just natural seawater every element is in check from the start. Other than having to aerate it from a negative ORP (comes from a saltwater well). The tank has had corals spawn at the same time as the wild since 2006 with the Acropora cervicornis spawning this year. They have also had some fish spawn as well, but I do not know for how long.
