1 PM Sunday, July 13th West Palm Beach dives

We're diving with Little Deeper in West Palm Beach on Sunday. Everyone on this trip is either Advanced certified or working on their Advance certification. The first dive is going to be a wreck (depth of 100' or less). The second dive is going to be on a reef (60' - 65' inside ledge and 80' - 85' outside ledge). The reef dive is a drift dive.

Thanks for posting the pictures Tucker. The secrets that go along with the trip! I can actually tell who took most of the photos. I wonder how the video of the huge green moray eel turned out?

This boat trip was on the Little Deeper out of West Palm Beach Florida. The seas were approximately 2' on Sunday. The visibility was approximately 60' - 80' on each dive. The water temperature was approximately 86 degrees F from the surface to about 20'. The bottom temperature was 78 degrees F on the wreck dives and 82 degrees F on the reef dive.

The first dive was a negative entry drift dive on Governor's Riverwalk Reef Dive Site. This site consists of 4 confiscated drug running wrecks, which were sunk by Governor Jeb Bush, to form this drift dive. This site is approximately a 10 minute boat ride out of the West Palm Beach inlet. These wrecks sit in 90', with current, so this is an advanced dive. Shortly after we got to the bottom we had a 6' - 8' carabeen reef shark come to check us out. It swam right towards Lloyd and I was wondering what he was going to do. It veered off a couple of feet in front of Lloyd and swam away. We drifted the first 3 wrecks and came up after approximately a 20 minute bottom time. Misty and Tucker drifted onto the 4th wreck before they started their assent.

Our second dive was Breakers Reef. I got approximately 60' for my max depth on this dive. Once again we did a negative drift entry off the back of the boat. Once I got to the bottom, with Max and Lloyd, we were next to a large sleeping Loggerhead. I pointed the turtle out to Max and Lloyd and we watched the turtle until the rest of the group caught up to us. At this point, the turtle woke up and saw everyone and decided it was time to move on. It swam right towards me and passed about a foot in front of my mask. I slowly and gently pet the turtles shell as he swam by me. Later on this dive we saw a very large green moray eel. The dive master was flashing her fingers around, a good distance in front of the eel, and it came out for everyone to see. We saw lots of fish and coral on this dive.

Most of the posted pictures were taken by TJ. Our group had 2 GoPro's in the water on these dives. Maybe (okay ... I will call them out) Tucker or Max will post some video or pictures that they took?

Nope white balance and color auto correction, digital looses some resolution, but all is made up in ease of post processing. If i can figure out how to shoot in raw, will make the ocean gradient colors better (not all digital from compression). now hopefully i can clean up the video. But takes way more effort than a photo.

Poor turtle. It looks like it had an encounter with a boat or shark. I was about 10' away from the turtle on the bottom. It swam towards me when all the divers started heading towards it.

Great video Max. Thanks for sharing Max and Lloyd. These dives were a lot of fun.
