Is it even alive after that? If I remember correctly the mat should be purple? Although HP does whiten I suppose -.-
Mine have always been that color mat. The underside is a darker purple however.

How long did you dip the green star poly?
The directions I read was to:
Pull out the rock.
Dribble straight 3% on the algae.
Wait 2 minutes.
Rinse with tank water.
Reinstall

That might be too long? I have plenty of GHA to experiment with. Most of my live rock doesn't have any coral (I'm just setting up the tank). I'm also going to try an experiment following the directions I just posted (it's from the link I provided). I haven't removed any hair algae using H2O2 from any live rock myself. I don't have a fancy camera to take pictures with. I'm going to try my camera phone.Originally Posted by philip_r5

Emerald Crab helping clean up. I should have removed the algae when I had it out of the water but I wan't to see what happen to it after I put it back into the tank.

I like how it cleaned the mat part of it. Phil please let me know if it lives after that I have had some pieces I would like to clean the mat on it.

Yes, it looks like it worked for the algae. I would probably reduce the coral's contact time with the H2O2. I know nothing about this other than reading most of the thread on RC. It said to pull out the rock and to dribble straight 3% H2O2 on the algae on the rock. Wait 2 minutes, rinse and then reinstall.
I would reduce the time by probably a minute that's about it. Its been a week and most of the polyps are out now but not its fullest yet.

I read several articles and forums on it. There seemed to be a varying opinion on the dilution, ratio, and time. Like I said I didn't really care if it ultimatley killed the GSP it was more an experiment and to gain knowledge along with show others it may work.

I usually drip it on, straight from the bottle and give it one minute....

I have used this but not at 1 to 1 to deal with various algies, I have tried pouring it straight from the bottle to various dilutions. It depended on the amount and type of algie that I was dealing with.
