When will you be excepting entries for the next 3 photos?
Steve
Within the next few weeks...
If you already have some photos you'd like to enter, you can send them to me and I'll make sure they are entered.
Thanks!

Why isn't the photo contest done in a thread. Everyone can submit one photo in the thread, then start a poll and let the forum users vote. THen at the end of the month you have the picture of the month winner.
I don't think it is. I see in the past, Photos should be emailed.
A thread should be started for example
August 2010 Photo Contest
Everyone makes a post with their entry. After a set amount of time, the submissions should be cut off then a new thread started
Vote Here!!! August 2010 Photo Contest
In this thread a list of all submission with a poll. Everyone gets to vote for a set time.
I think it should be one entry per person, but thats my opinion. The winner can then email the proper resolution email to whoever needs it for the calendar.

The rules were given since the beginning, I've just "stickied" that thread to make sure everybody is aware of them.
All ORCA members can send pictures, once the pictures are received (until the cut off date) the pictures are posted in a dedicated poll thread and everybody can vote after that, the idea is that the owner of the pictures are NOT known.
The poll system will only allow one vote per person, they can however add as many post as they want to the thread.
Once the poll is closed we'll have tree winners, one for the three coming months.
You can start submitting new photos, 3 max or one per month for the next quarter.
Right on. Just think more people would get involved if all they had to do is post a picture in a thread. Emails take longer to compose then jsut attaching an image to a post on a webiste that you are already on.
Rules are rules I guess.
Good luck to the future winners.

It was done that way to make it anonymous, so there would be no voting for your buddy. The voting has much more integrity this way.

(and I have no idea where the asterisk is coming from....)
I kind of partially agree that doing it the old way keeps the voting anonymous. I could submit the photo and then put up a thread telling which photos are mine so that my buddies can vote. But sometimes sticking to the old proven ways is good

I like the anonymous method.
They waqy Mitch won't get mad at me when I don't vote for him

I wish I had a camera to take better photos with. I only have the camera on my phone.
