I’m fairly new to Orlando, and brand new to marine tanks, so this forum seems like the best place to reach out and say hi. My tank is currently in the final stages of a startup cycle for a 40B with 20 gallon sump. I intend to transition from FOWLR into a full reef tank. I'm comfortable with the most basic tasks of tank setup and maintenance, but I know next to nothing about reef keeping. I'm look forward to possibly making the October meeting and getting some fresh input online as well.

Thank you for your generous welcomes. Between work, school, and family, I was not able to make yesterday's meeting. I'm scheduling ahead for Oct. I intend to apply for ORCA membership there. Would it be ok to have my 11yo son tag along as well? Single parent here, and he enjoys our tank setup as well as I do.

It is fine to bring along your son. There are other children present at the meetings.
