    New Built in Wall Tank

So, I went to the house the last few days and got more information on my tank. I am a little scared but I am not to sure if it is for good reason. It measures 18 1/2 x 72 1/2 x 24 1/2 .

Now, I have a few questions and pictures for advise or suggestions.

First I can't find any information on the pump that was hooked up to the system. It seems a little small but I am not sure.

Then these are pics of the silicone in the tank.

This was the bottom of the tank. I haven't had a tank this size before so I don't know if this is normal or it is because it is a old tank. But if you look at the picture it seems as if the glass extends out to the mold / rim of the tank.

Kind of looks like the old 125g tank I sold a while ago. Wonder if it's the same one.

I think the tank is an old 125. I recognize the middle glass brace but I forget the manufacturer's name. The glass braces cause a minor dim spot, iirc. The silicone looks good, I bet it holds water. I'm not sure what's going on with the back and that small bit of a glass but I'd guess it's specific to that manufacturer like the center brace.

The pump is a really old "Rainbow Lifeguard Quiet One". Looks like its built like a tank with a high quality motor. They're still making pumps although they are no longer "silent" or built like tanks. If it works and is quiet enough to your liking, rock it... get rid of the soft tubing and reducers but rock it.

Overall, I'd say it looks like this tank was setup to run a fish only system (fresh or salt, idk). The equipment is a bit dated but appears serviceable. The really great thing though is the location... all that room behind and above the tank! I bet you could setup an awesome surge system or remote wavebox for water movement with no pumps in the tank. Looks like there might be enough room to squeeze a 180 in if you want/need a bigger replacement tank with no real finish work required. Awesome inwall setup, can't wait to see what you do with it.

I clean my stuff with a 10-15% muratic acid "home depo has it 1 gal for like 2$" to water mix and an old pump for a day or two and a lil elbow grease. kinda tingles any cuts you have on your hands but will not do any real damage.
    Four individual systems Right now.
30gal red sea 130d lps/softies/anemone tank, kalk ato, reef bright led strip.
    40 softies set up.
550 total gallon marineland 300 DD main system 18 months old now and stabilized. T5 VHO lights/ BLUE led strip, Fully custom built LIFE REEF sump and FUGE, AWESOME 60" tall skimmer, and 1000+ gallon rated custom Ca reactor, 3 50 gallon attached SPS frag systems lite with a combination of HM and LED and T5 fixtures.
A 200 gallon MARS quarintine with UV system/ medication for new arrivals.

Still lots to learn about the hobby but I have amassed a great collection of real beauties. I have broken past the stage of keeping things alive and now there actually growing out. Which is a big hurdle for many beginners I must admit. Good information and advise is hard to get sometimes and the club has done wonders with respect to quality advise and help in the hobby.

Honestly. This tank would scare me with water in it. Tanks are really only good for 15yrs or so and then you run the risk of a seam leak and or water all over your floors...

Why not just buy another 125G? Then you have something new and should give you years of happiness? Perfecto has a lifetime warranty on their tanks.

    Just my two cents.

I will make a new tank thread if it works out. I will clean it up shortly and water test it.
