My salt is comming in tomorrow and I was wondering what I should do. I currently have a bone dry 90gal aquarium and a 35gal trash can full of RO water. Should I mix the salt in the can or the aquarium?

i mixed mine in the aquarium.get your salinty right and go from there
Trash can. The tank has corners, so you'll have dead spots. It will take longer to mix it in the tank, IMHO.
many choose to mix it right up in the aquarium but like conjuay said trashcan is the more efficient way of going about it
I mixed for 350 gallons right in my display tank with 4 vortech's running WOT- worked very well-

Either will do you fine, just make sure it is fully mixed before doing anything else with the tank.

Take my word for it, do your sandbed and rockscape without any water in the tank (have it mixed and ready to go, though), and when you're happy with the layout, then add the water. I mixed my water in tank and then tried to do the rockscape, bad idea! After 30 seconds of working each time I kicked up dust and had to wait 24 hours before I could do anything else. I eventually got fed up with it and drained the tank into holding containers, did my rockscape, and then refilled the tank.
id say go for the can and let the particulate matter settle out.. that said.. I mixed my first batch in the tank..
